Dr. Hossain is employed as a Senior Research Assistant, funded by MaREI, the Research Ireland Centre for Energy, Climate and Marine. Dr. Hossain is leading work on a project focused on optimising energy usage in cyber-physical systems, with a particular emphasis on electronic cooling technologies and wind tunnel systems. Prior to joining TU Dublin, Dr. Hossain worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Galway on the RoomPhonic project (Enterprise Ireland-funded). He coordinated with the industry partner, Sonitus Systems Ltd, and led a systematic review that was later published in a peer-reviewed journal. He also presented this work at INTER-NOISE 2024. He holds a PhD in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering from Trinity College Dublin, a Master of Science from the University of Bremen (Germany), and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. His research interests span acoustic metamaterials, soundscapes, fluidic sensors, and data centre technologies, demonstrating his interdisciplinary strength. Dr. Hossain’s academic excellence has been recognised through multiple awards, including the Construct Innovate Seed Funding, Deutschlandstipendium, and the Provost’s PhD Award at Trinity. His publication and training record reflect a commitment to both scientific excellence and practical application.
